Rail minister announces India’s first hydrogen train, know details

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the budget speech on the second day of the budget session in the Parliament today. In this speech, the government has allocated a budget of 2.4 lakh crores for the railways. In the budget, a fund of Rs 75,000 crore has been announced for the new schemes of the Railways. After the budget speech, the press conference has also started. After the budget in the conference, the Finance Minister is working to highlight the important points of the budget through the media.

In the press conference, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that till now Vande Bharat Express has been prepared in Chennai’s Integral Coach Factory that is ICF only. But now to fulfill the target, coaches of Vande Bharat Express will be ready in other coach factories as well.

Railway Minister said that a total of 1275 stations including big stations will be re-developed under the Amrit Bharat scheme. For electricity, ultra mega solar plants and energy corridors will be built in hilly areas.

Hydrogen train will run this year

Hydrogen train will replace the trains of 1950-60 decade. In the conference, the Railway Minister said that initially the hydrogen train will be run on 8 different routes of the country. Under the green growth initiative, the hydrogen train will be ready by December 2023. It will be run in inherited circuit. Before India, the service of hydrogen train has started in China and Germany. Testing of hydrogen train was going on in Germany from the year 2018.

Vande Bharat will be made in total four factories

He said that all Vande Bharat trains will be made by the Railways in its factory. Vande Bharat train production will start in Sonepat, Latur and Rae Bareli. Two to three Vande Bharats will be produced per week till the next financial year. Right now the design and testing work of Metro Vande Bharat is going on. Production of Vande Bharat Metro will start in 2024-25.
