People traveling by rail are going to get a big relief. Railways has decided to resume catering services with cooked meals in Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat Tejas and Gatimaan trains. Railway Board has given this information.
In the circular issued, it has been said that the zonal railways will verify the catering charge and rate list on the basis of the services provided.
The charges will be entered in the PRS software to enable the passenger to opt for the catering service at the time of booking the ticket. The food rate list and catering charges will be applicable for all Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Vande Bharat, Tejas and Gatimaan Express trains.

Railway Board has asked IRCTC to inform the passengers who have already booked e-tickets in these trains through SMS and email about the resumption of cooked food supply. At the same time, the zonal railways will inform through SMS to those who have booked tickets through PRS. For already booked tickets, IRCTC will provide the facility on its website to avail the catering service and pay the charges in advance. This facility will be available for both e-ticket and counter ticket passengers.
