Rain in Uttarakhand: 61 roads closed in the state, heavy rain alert for the next three days

In Uttarakhand, 61 roads were closed again after torrential rains since Saturday night at various places. Several irrigation canals and drinking water lines have also been damaged. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of moderate to heavy rain in different parts of the state for the next three days. After the rains in the state, the process of blocking the roads due to landslides continues. On Sunday, movement was completely disrupted on 61 roads of the state. The process of rain had started in many areas of the state since late Saturday evening. It rained heavily in many areas. Most of the roads in mountainous areas have been blocked due to rain and landslides.

According to information received from the State Emergency Operation Center located at the Secretariat, 61 roads in the state were closed till 5 pm on Sunday. Rishikesh-Badrinath National Highway-58 in Chamoli is open for large and small vehicles, while nine rural roads have been blocked in the district.

13 rural roads including one highway, one district road have been blocked in Dehradun. Rishikesh-Kedarnath National Highway-107 at Rudraprayag is open for traffic. A rural road is closed.
