Rajasthan: 3 dead, several injured in stampede at temple in Sikar

At least three people were killed and several injured following a stampede at Khatu Shyamji temple in Rajasthan’s Sikar. The stampede took place at around 5 am in the morning at the entrance of the temple.

Two of the injured have been referred to a hospital in Jaipur.

At least three people died and several others were injured after a stampede broke out at Khatu Shyamji Temple in Rajasthan’s Sikar district on Monday (August 8).

The stampede occurred during a monthly fair on Monday morning. Two of the injured have been referred to a hospital in Jaipur. Police is present at the spot.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident.

Taking to Twitter, PM Narendra Modi said, “Saddened by the loss of lives due to a stampede at the Khatu Shyamji Temple complex in Sikar, Rajasthan. My thoughts are with the bereaved families. I pray that those who are injured recover at the earliest.”
