Details of the Attack Near Chandi Mor

There are rumors that JK 02 AE 3485, a passenger-filled bus, was traveling back to Katra from Shivkhodi. In the bus were forty-two passengers. All of the passengers boarded the bus and headed for Shivkhodi early in the morning. The terrorists who had already set up an ambush near Chandi Mor in the Kanda Trayath area between Pouni and Shivkhodi started shooting in front of the bus as it was making its way back after the darshan. The driver lost balance as a result of the abrupt fire, and the bus plunged into a ditch that was roughly 200 feet deep. Other terrorists in the area fired shots from behind the bus as it was collapsing.

Immediate Rescue Efforts Initiated

Locals and the administrative team arrived at the scene as soon as word of the disaster was received, and rescue efforts were underway. After being removed from the deep ditch, the injured were brought to the hospital. Numerous people's bodies were laying where the bus had fallen into the ditch. There were also a few bodies visible, stuck to the trees.

The rescue operation was challenging because it was in a forested region. Several hours of labor later, the injured were removed. From Reasi, police officers also arrived at the location. PHC Pouni and Triyath received the injured patients. All of the injured in Pouni received first aid, and then they were sent to the District Hospital Reasi. In addition, a few injured people were also taken to Health Center Bharkh.
