The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and several schoolsin Delhi were rocked by bomb threats, sparking widespread concern and heightened security measures. Authorities have sprung into action, investigating the incidents to ensure public safety.

RBI Receives Bomb Threat in Russian

On December 12, the RBI received a chilling bomb threat via email, marking the second such incident within a month. What makes this case intriguing is that the email was written in Russian, raising questions about the sender’s identity and motive. The email targeted the RBI's official website and has prompted law enforcement to escalate their investigation.

The MumbaiPolice have registered a case at the Mata Ramabai Marg (MRA Marg) police station and are working diligently to trace the source of the threat. This follows a prior incident on November 16, when the RBI’s customer care number received a bomb threat. In a bizarre twist, the caller, claiming to be the "CEO of Lashkar-e-Taiba," sang a song before issuing his threat.

Schools in Delhi Under Threat Again

Adding to the tension, several schools in Delhi received bomb threats early on Friday morning. This marks the second such occurrence in a week, disrupting academic schedules and alarming parents.

Among the schools targeted were Bhatnagar International School in Paschim Vihar, Cambridge School in Srinivas Puri, and DPS Amar Colony in East of Kailash. According to the Delhi Fire Services, the calls reporting threats began as early as 4:21 AM for Bhatnagar International School. Similar alerts followed at 6:23 AM for Cambridge School and 6:35 AM for DPS Amar Colony.

Fire tenders were dispatched immediately to these schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. While no explosives were found during initial searches, authorities are leaving no stone unturned in their investigation.

Authorities Respond Swiftly

The quick response from law enforcement and fire services highlights the seriousness of the situation. While it is unclear if there is any connection between the threats to RBI and Delhi schools, the use of Russian language in the RBI email adds an international dimension to the case. Security experts are analysing the content and origin of the email for clues.

Delhi Policeare also coordinating with cybercrime units to trace the individuals behind the school threats. Meanwhile, school administrations are taking additional safety measures, including conducting emergency evacuation drills and ensuring all security systems are fully functional.
