Businessman Robert Vadra on Monday marched from his residence to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) office in Delhi after being summoned in connection with a Gurugram land deal case. The symbolic walk attracted media attention as Vadra accused the government of targeting him for raising his voice on public issues.
“Whenever I will speak up for people and make them heard, they will try to suppress me,” he said, adding that he has always answered all questions asked by the authorities and will continue to do so.
“They Try to Suppress Me Whenever I Speak for People”
Speaking during his walk, Vadra accused the authorities of targeting him for political reasons. “Whenever I will speak up for people and make them heard, they will try to suppress me,” he said. He further stated that he has always cooperated with the agencies, responded to every question, and will continue to do so. According to him, the repeated summons are part of a deliberate attempt to harass and silence voices that stand with the public.
The ED summons is linked to alleged irregularities in a land acquisition case in Gurugram. Vadra, however, maintained that he has consistently cooperated with investigative agencies and termed the latest move a part of ongoing political vendetta.
Political Allegations Resurface as Probe Continues
The development comes at a time when opposition parties have repeatedly alleged misuse of central agencies to harass political figures and their associates. Vadra’s public appearance and strong remarks are being seen as a response to what he claims is an attempt to suppress dissenting voices. His march to the ED office was perceived as a statement of defiance and transparency, reinforcing his stand that he has nothing to hide.
