The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the plea that sought removal of Uddhav Thackeray led Maha Vikas Aghadi government and imposition of President's rule in Maharashtra.
The Apex court refused to entertain the plea, saying, " "You are at liberty to approach the President, don't come here." The top court bench also included Justices AS Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian.
The plea was presented before 3-judge bench headed by Chief Justice, SA Bobde.
The plea cited the recent case of Sushant Singh Rajput'S death and demolition of Kangana Ranaut's property as the example of bad governance to seek the removal. It also claimed that the state did not take actions in line with constitution.
Vikram Gehlot, in his petition, said that the affairs of the state were not carried out with legal provisions. In his plea, He referred the death of Sushant Singh Rajput and demolition of Ranaut's property as examples of poor law and order in the state.
During the video-conference hearing, the top court said that Maharashtra is a big state and it can not be said the constitution is not being followed on the basis of some incidents.
Maharashtra is being governed by Thackeray led Shiv Sena which has Congress and National Congress Party(NCP)
