Section 144 imposed in Noida till April 30

The Uttar Pradesh police has invoked Section 144 in Gautam Buddh Nagar on Tuesday till April 30, prohibiting the unauthorised protest and the warning against the violators of COVID-19 protocol.

The restrictions have been imposed in the view of the upcoming festive season which includes Holi, Shab-e-Baraat, Good Friday, Ram Navami Ambedkar Jayanti, Navaratri, Mahavir Jayanti, Hanuman Jayanti etc.

"During these occasions, the chances of anti-social elements attempting to disrupt law and order cannot be ruled out," Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Ashutosh Dwivedi said in the order.

During the span of these 40+ days, people will have to follow the COVID protocol at public places according to the order and no mass gatherings will be allowed.
