Shaheed Diwas: Remembering the Sacrifice of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, Political Leaders Pay Homage to India’s Brave Freedom Fighters

Shaheed Diwas: To honour the unmatched sacrifice made by the revolutionary leaders Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Hari Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar who were hanged at the Lahore Central Prison in Lahore in 1931, “Shaheed Diwas” is observed every year on March 23.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tweeted

To celebrate their incomparable heroism, many activities are conducted across India in a bid to pay tribute to the renowned freedom fighters. On the occasion of the renowned heroes’ martyrdom day on Thursday, a number of politicians tweeted their condolences. Among the leaders who paid their respects were Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla, and Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Keshav Prasad Maurya.

Twitter account Amit Mahotsav shared a video

A video on “shaheed special series” showcasing the motivational tales of the liberation warriors was also published by the official Twitter account of “Amit Mahotsav,” the campaign to honour 75 years of independence. Since early in the morning, the hashtags “Bhagat Singh,” “Sukhdev,” “Rajguru,” and “Shaheed Diwas” have also been trending on Twitter as people around the country have paid their respects.

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann pays Tribute

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Tweeted, “Because of which today we are enjoying the warmth of freedom…living the life of our choice…our martyrs gave us the way to serve the country…today the incredible martyrdom of Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Rajguru, Shaheed Sukhdev ji for the sake of the country. Heartfelt worship…Long live the revolution”

Remembering the sacrifices of our Brave freedom fighters

Bhagat Singh stands out among the three as a charismatic independence fighter. He joined the independence movement at a young age, and the British executed him when he was only 23. In an effort to get revenge for the murder of nationalist leader Lala Lajpat Rai, Singh, Sukhdev, and Rajguru planned to kill Lahore police superintendent James Scott on December 28. They accidentally shot John Saunders, though, and Singh escaped to Calcutta to evade capture. He was detained following his second attempt to overthrow British rule, during which he and Batukeshwar Dutt detonated bombs inside Delhi’s Central Assembly Hall while chanting “Inquilab Zindabad!”
