Sushil Modi: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Modi passed away on Tuesday, and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary expressed his sorrow, calling the veteran leader's passing "unfortunate and an irreparable loss for Bihar politics."

Tribute to Sushil Modi's Political Legacy

“The demise of Sushil Modi is very unfortunate, it is an irreparable loss for Bihar politics. He was a leader who strengthened the party and gave direction to the party,” Samrat Choudhary told ANI.

Sushil Kumar Modi, the former deputy chief minister of Bihar, passed away on Monday night at the age of 72 at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi. He had been fighting cancer for the previous seven months. Later in the day, the former Rajya Sabha MP's last rites will be carried out. Last month, Sushil Modi made his medical condition public and refrained from running in the Lok Sabha election.

Battling Cancer Amid Political Responsibilities

Sushil Modi declared he had cancer on April 3 of this year and asked the BJP to release him from all Lok Sabha election-related duties. Sushil Kumar Modi gave his last message for public life on 03 April. He wrote on social media - "I have been struggling with cancer for the last six months. Now I felt that the time has come to tell people. I will not be able to do anything in the Lok Sabha elections. I have told everything to the Prime Minister. Country, Bihar and Always grateful and always dedicated to the party."

Following the publication of this, Sushil Modi's supporters in Bihar were taken aback by his state upon arrival at the airport. His body gave way abruptly. Following this, his family refused to allow photographers to take his picture when numerous BJP luminaries visited him at home.

Remembering Sushil Modi's Contributions to BJP and Bihar

Condoling the demise of Sushil Modi, PM Modi wrote that "He was deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Sushil Modi ji, who was my friend and valued colleague in the party for decades. His invaluable contribution was behind the rise of BJP and its successes in Bihar. Opposing the Emergency, he identified himself with student politics and was known as a friendly, hard-working MLA. My condolences are with his family and supporters in this hour of mourning. om Shanti."

J P Nadda Pays Homage to Sushil Modi's Contributions to BJP's Growth

BJP's national J. P. Nadda wrote on X, “The news of the demise of senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi ji is extremely sad. From Vidyarthi Parishad till now we have worked together for a long time for the organization. Sushil Modi ji's entire life was dedicated to Bihar."
