Suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh gets conditional bail in hate speech case

Conditional bail has been granted in the case against suspended BJP MLA T Raja Singh for his provocative remarks against Prophet Muhammad. According to T Raja Singh’s attorney Karuna Sagar, the Telangana High Court also dismissed the accusations brought against him under the Preventive Detention Act.

T Raja Singh was detained in August on suspicion of uttering offensive comments against the Prophet Muhammad. After large-scale demonstrations broke out in Hyderabad, calling for action against him, a FIR was filed against him.

T Raja Singh was also suspended by the Bharatiya Janata Party shortly after his comments caused a controversy (BJP).

The demonstrations were brought on by a video posted to social media in which T Raja Singh was heard insulting Islam and Muslims.
