The case of killing of Hindus and Sikhs in Kashmir reached the Supreme Court, appealed to take suo motu cognizance

The case of killing of Hindus and Sikhs in Kashmir has now reached the Supreme Court. Delhi's lawyer Vineet Jindal has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the country, Justice NV Ramana, requesting him to take suo motu cognizance of the matter.

In his letter, lawyer Vineet Jindal has demanded to provide security to the Sikhs and Hindus living in Kashmir. Along with this, he has demanded the investigation of the murder of Hindus and Sikhs by the National Investigation Agency. In his letter, Jindal has also demanded a compensation of Rs one crore each to the families of the deceased and a government job for one member of the family.

Jindal, in his letter to the CJI, said, "The recent incidents of murder in the Kashmir Valley, particularly the killing of members of targeted minority communities, have once again led to the massacre of 36 Sikhs in the year 2000 in Chattisinghpora village of Anantnag. Reminded me of the horrific incident."

Seven civilians have been killed in the Kashmir Valley in the last five days, out of which six have been killed in the city. Four of the dead were from the minority (Hindu and Sikh) community. Terrorists on Thursday shot dead two government school teachers, including a female headmaster, in Srinagar's Idgah area amid increased attacks on civilians in Jammu and Kashmir.
