Parliament budget session

Parliament budget session: Prime Minister Narendra Modi replied to the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. The Lok Sabha has allocated a time of over 12 hours to discuss President's Address.

PM Modi's address comes a day after Congress MP Rahul Gandhi cornered the BJP-led government over the Adani row, questioning PM Modi's links with Gautam Adani.

In his speech today, the Prime Minister took an indirect dig at the Congress leader, saying “People spoke according to their nature. Entire ecosystem excited by some people’s speech.”

PM Modi watched Rahul Gandhi's speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech in Parliament today said that he was watching yesterday, referring to Rahul Gandhi's speech. "I was watching yesterday. After the speeches of a few people, some people were happily saying, "Ye hui na baat." Maybe they slept well & couldn't wake up (on time)," he said.

"Leaders spoke on President's address as per their interest, nature but their utterances also reflect their capability, capacity, intent. After some people's remarks yesterday in Lok Sabha, entire 'ecosystem' and their supporters were jubilant," PM Modi said.

"When President's Address was going on, some people avoided it. A tall leader even insulted the President. They displayed hatred against ST. When such things were said on TV, the sense of hatred deep within came out. An attempt was made to save oneself after writing a letter later," the Prime Minister said.

What Rahul Gandhi said

"Relationships begins many years ago when Narendra Modi was Gujarat CM...one man stood shoulder to shoulder with PM Modi, he was loyal to PM and helped Mr Modi to construct idea of a Vibrant Gujarat. Real magic began when PM Modi reached Delhi in 2014," Rahul Gandhi said.

Continuing his attack, Rahul Gandhi said, there's a rule that who does not have prior experience in airports cannot be involved in the development of airports. This rule was changed by the Government of India. This rule was changed and Adani was given six airports, he added.
