Total lunar eclipse: The total lunar eclipse on Tuesday, November 8, is the last one of this year. The night time skywatchers will have to wait for three years after today for total eclipse as the next one can be witnessed only on March 14, 2025. Though partial lunar eclipses will be seen in these three years.
Today’s lunar eclipse can be seen in India.

Lunar eclipse time
According to the Ministry of Earth Science, the eclipse will begin at 2.39 PM IST on November 8, with total eclipse starting at 3.46 PM IST. Though the period of the eclipse when the moon is fully eclipsed, will end at 5.12 PM IST, the partial phase will end at 6.19 PM IST.
Is the total lunar eclipse visible in India?
According to the Ministry of Earth Science, the total Lunar Eclipse will be visible in the eastern parts of the country including Kolkata and Guwahati, while the partial phase will be visible in the rest of the states.
On November 8, 2022, the Moon will pass into Earth’s shadow and turn red. This will be the last total lunar eclipse for about 3 years, so be sure to check it out if it’s visible in your area.

But don’t worry if you are in a place where you won’t be able to view the Moon. You can catch the solar eclipse from any of the live streams below. Total lunar eclipse
Kolkata
You can see total Lunar Eclipse at 04:55 pm in Kolkata. It will begin at 04:52 pm and end at 07:26 pm, lasting for 2 hours and 34 minutes.

Guwahati
In Guwahati, the Lunar Eclipse will start at 4:32 pm and end at 07:26 pm. The total Eclipse duration will be 2 hours and 53 minutes, and it will be at its maximum at 04:36 pm.
Bhubaneswar
The Eclipse will be at its maximum point at 05:09 pm in Bhubaneswar, and last for 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Siliguri
In Siliguri the total Lunar Eclipse will begin at 04:49 pm and will last for 2 hours and 41 minutes.
Partial lunar eclipse
Delhi
The Lunar Eclipse will reach its maximum point in Delhi at 05:31 pm with 66 per cent obscuration of the Moon. The event will begin at 05:28 pm and end at 07:26 pm, lasting for 1 hour and 58 minutes.
Mumbai
Mumbaikars can witness the Lunar Eclipse at 06:04 pm with only 14 per cent obscuration. The phenomenon will begin at 06:01 pm and end at 07:26 pm, lasting for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
Chennai
In Chennai, the Eclipse will be visible for 1 hour and 48 minutes. It will reach its maximum point at 05:42 pm.
