Indian Railway: It's expected that Cyclone Biparjoy may strengthen much more before making landfall in Gujarat's Kutch. An orange signal was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for the Gujarati beaches of Saurashtra and Kutch.
IMD Sounds Alarm with 'Orange' Alert for Saurashtra & Kutch Coast
Due to Cyclone Biparjoy, the IMD on Monday morning issued a 'orange' advisory for Gujarat. "Orange Message: Cyclone Alert for Saurashtra & Kutch Coast. At 08:30 IST today, ESCS BIPARJOY was located 320 kilometres southwest of Porbandar, 360 km southwest of Devbhumi Dwarka, 440 km south of Jakhau Port, and 440 km southwest of Naliya. To cross as VSCS close to Jakhau Port in Gujarat by midday on June 15th," it stated.

Deendayal Port Authority Evacuates Residents to Safety
Officials at the Deendayal Port Authority in Kandla near Gujarat's Kutch have begun moving people from low-lying regions to makeshift shelters amid the cyclone alert. Om Prakash, the Deendayal Port Authority's public relations officer, reported that six ships have already departed from the port and that 11 more will do so on Monday. He continued by saying that alertness has also been requested from port officials and ship owners.
