Twitter account of Government of Pakistan withheld in India

On Saturday, the Indian government blocked access to the Pakistani government's Twitter account.

The twitter handle indicates that access to the account has been denied in compliance with a court order. What motivated the action against the Pakistani government's official twitter account is still unknown.

Based on requests from authorities, Twitter withholds content that is discovered to be against local laws.

"In our continuing effort to make our services available to people everywhere, if we receive a valid and properly scoped request from an authorized entity, it may be necessary to withhold access to certain content in a particular country from time to time. Such withholdings will be limited to the specific jurisdiction that has issued the valid legal demand or where the content has been found to violate local law(s)."

Recently, the twitter account of Popular Front of India (PFI) , which has been declared a proscribed outfit, was withheld in India.
