Twitter restores Blue Tick Badge on vice president Venkaiah Naidu's personal account

Hours after Twitter removed Blue Tick from vice president Venkaiah Naidu's personal account, it got restored. The corrective action by the social media giant came after a massive uproar on social media.

Naidu's personal account, was inactive since July 23, 2020, citing this a Twitter spokesperson said that as per verification policy, Twitter has the authority to remove verified status if the account is inactive.

"Account inactive since July 2020. As per our verification policy, Twitter may remove the blue verified badge and verified status if the account becomes inactive. The badge has been restored," a Twitter spokesperson was quoted as saying.

Later on, many users pointed out various accounts which have blue tick but not active. On the other hand, the official handle of the Vice President of India continued to be remain verified.
