Two years of Pulwama terror attack

February 14 marks the anniversary of the deadly Pulwama attack that claimed the lives of 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in 2019. The attack was carried out by 22-year-old Adil Ahmed Dar, who had joined Pakistan-based terror-group Jaish-e-Mohammed a year earlier.

A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy of around 78 vehicles, with over 2,500 jawans, was targeted by terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) after a vehicle carrying 350 kg explosive rammed into a CRPF bus.

In retaliation, India carried out an airstrike on JeM’s Balakot terror training camp in Pakistan and withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan.

The CRPF remembered the martyrs of Pulwama attack on Sunday and wrote, “Did not Forgive, will not Forget: Salute to our brothers who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation in #PulwamaAttack . Indebted, we stand with the families of our valiant Bravehearts”.

Further, netizens also paid tribute to all 40 soldier who lost their lives in 2019 Pulwama attack.

Last year, a memorial of all 40 martyrs was inaugurated on February 14 at the CRPF training centre at Lethpora camp in Pulwama. The memorial is inscribed with the names of all 40 troopers along with their photographs and the motto of the CRPF — “Seva and Nishtha” (Service and Loyalty).
