UP govt makes RT-PCR Test report mandatory for the visitors

Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during a meeting on Sunday said that the negative RT-PCR report is mandatory to visit UP. The UP government said that people coming by private vehicles apart from road, air and rail routes needs to follow the rule.

Visitors from states like Maharashtra, Kerala and Tamil Nadu and those with a positivity rate of more than 3 percent will have to show a negative RT-PCR report which has to be no older than four days said the UP government. Apart from this, only those who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine will be allowed to enter UP.

According to sources, Chief minister Yogi Adityanath took the decision during the meeting of Team-9 officials on Sunday. Adityanath added that Covid-19 cases are surging all over the country. A negative RT-PCR report should be made mandatory for people coming to Uttar Pradesh from those states where the rate of corona positive is more than three percent, which should not be more than four days old from the beginning of the journey.

These rules should also be implemented for people coming by private vehicles apart from road, air and rail routes, said Yogi Adityanath. Affective contact tracing and testing of people coming to Uttar Pradesh from these states should also be done. Antigen tests and thermal scannings must be done on arrival in the state of the visitors.

38,164 new cases of coronavirus got reported in India, in last 24 hours with 38,660 fresh recoveries. Total number of recovered persons and the death toll have reached 30,308,456 and 414,108, respectively. The recovery rate of Covid-19 now stands at 97.31 per cent. Their is a decline to 421665 and comprise 1.35 percent of the total cases.

Meanwhile, the overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 190 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 4.08 million and vaccinations soared to over 3.61 billion, according to the Johns Hopkins University.
