On March 26, the Supreme Court ordered Mukhtar Ansari to be sent from Ropar jail in Punjab to Jail in UP's Banda district so that the trial against him could be heard.

On Tuesday, a team of 2 COs and 100 policemen reached Ropar police line from Banda. Mukhtar is to be shifted from Ropar to Banda jail. In fact, in the year 2019, the Punjab Police took Mukhtar from Banda Jail in a case of extortion.

After this, 8 times in two years the UP police went to pick him up but the local police refused to send Mukhtar to UP. After this, the Yogi government approached the Supreme Court, from where orders were given to send Mukhtar to UP in two weeks.

Mukhtar Ansari is lodged in Ropar Jail in Punjab in a case. To bring Ansari, the case went on till the Supreme Court between the state government and the Punjab government.

On March 26, the apex court, while delivering the verdict, ordered Mukhtar Ansari to be sent to Uttar Pradesh. The court directed to send Mukhtar, who is jailed in Punjab, to Uttar Pradesh in two weeks .
