UP Polls 2022: Priyanka Gandhi may be the CM face of Congress

The All India Congress Committee (AICC) Incharge of Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has said that she is the face of the party in the state for the upcoming Assembly elections.

During a press conference today, when she was asked whether parties have Chief Ministers’ faces and they too are contesting polls, who is leading Congress, she replied, “I am the face of the party. Do you see any other face from the party in the State?”

When asked that will she contest the Assembly polls, Priyanka said, “that will be decided at a right time.”

Congress leaders Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi released the youth manifesto in Delhi for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls in which 20 lakh jobs are promised, of which eight lakhs have been promised for women.

The Congress leader’s remarks came during a press conference to release the party’s ‘youth manifesto’.

“Do you see anyone else’s face from the Congress party in Uttar Pradesh? You can see my face everywhere,” Priyanka said on being asked about the chief ministerial face of Congress in the upcoming UP Assembly polls.

riyanka, who along with Rahul Gandhi released the ‘Bharti Vidhan’ at the Congress headquarters in New Delhi, said the party wants the focus to be on development as the propoganda.

Rahul said the vision document is “not hollow words” but drafted after consulting youth whose views are reflected in it.

“There are polls in UP and the youth there need a new vision and only the Congress can give that vision to the state,” the former president said. “We don’t spread hatred, we work to unite people and we want to build a new Uttar Pradesh driven by the strength and confidence of youth.” Priyanka Gandhi added that the biggest problem in the state is unemployment and the youth are disappointed.


Uttar Pradesh assembly elections will be held in seven phases from February 10 to March 7. The polling in Uttar Pradesh will be held on February 10, 14, 20, 23, 27 and March 3 and 7.
The counting of votes will take place on March 10
