The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. Candidates who participated in this year’s recruitment process can now check their names in the final merit list released on the official website — upsc.gov.in. 

UPSC Final Result 2024 Out: Shakti Dubey Tops Prestigious Exam

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on April 22 (Monday) announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2024. This year, Shakti Dubey has secured All India Rank 1 (AIR 1), topping one of the most competitive and prestigious examinations in the country. 

Inspired by Service, Driven by Discipline

Hailing from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, Dubey said in his first reaction, “This is not just my success—it’s my parents’, my teachers’, and everyone who stood by me during the lows.” He hopes to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and serve in the fields of education and public health.

The results are published in shortlist format, containing names and roll numbers of the candidates recommended for appointment to various Group A and Group B services.

Interview Round Concluded on April 17; 1,132 Posts to Be Filled

The Personality Test (Interview) round began on January 7 and concluded on April 17 this year. The recruitment drive aims to fill 1,132 prestigious vacancies, including posts in:

Indian Administrative Service (IAS)

Indian Police Service (IPS)

Indian Foreign Service (IFS)

Indian Revenue Service (IRS)

Indian Trade Service (ITS)

And other Group A & B Central Services

Lakhs Appear, Few Succeed: India’s Toughest Exam

The UPSC CSE is considered India’s most challenging competitive examination, with lakhs of aspirants competing each year. The multi-tiered selection process — comprising the Prelims, Mains, and the Personality Test — evaluates not just academic knowledge but leadership, ethics, and decision-making skills.

The final result marks the culmination of a rigorous year-long selection process, and successful candidates will soon receive appointment letters to join India's administrative framework.
