The Union Public Service Commission is likely to release the results of the Civil Services Examination Preliminary 2025. Lakhs of candidates across India are waiting for the news. The CSE Preliminary test was held on May 25. There were over 10 lakh applicants for the 979 open positions, including the IAS, IPS, and IFS.

Waiting for the Official Word to Come Out

Candidates should keep an eye on upsc.gov.in (the official UPSC website), as the results are expected to be out at any time now. The Commission hasn't said when the results will be released, but based on past annual cycles, the preliminary results should be made public two to three weeks after the test. Based on what has happened in the past, we can expect to hear something by June 14th.

How to Read the Results: What to Look for in the PDF

The UPSC CSE Prelims Result 2025 will be posted on the official website as a PDF file as soon as it is made public. The PDF will only have the roll numbers of people who passed the first round of the selection process and are now moving on to the next, more difficult step, which is the UPSC Civil Services Mains Examination 2025. There will be no individual marks or cut-off numbers given out with the preliminary results. They won't be made public until after the interviews, when the final CSE 2025 results are made public.

How to Look at the Results: Official Channels are Important.

To see their scores, candidates will need to go to the official website of the UPSC. Then, on the home page, they need to click on "What's New" and then on the link that says "Civil Services Prelims Result 2025."

The Prelims: The Mains and Final Selection

The Prelims test is the first step in the selection process. It has two objective-type papers, which are the General Studies Paper I and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) Paper II. It is important to note that the scores you get on CSAT Paper II are only used for passing, while the scores you get on Paper I are used for merit. If you passed the Prelims poll, you can now fill out the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) to sign up for the Mains.
