UPSC Vacancy 2026: An official notification has been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) for the positions of Senior Store Officer Grade-2, Assistant Keeper and Livestock officer. The application window for all of these positions starts today (April 11, 2026) and the last date for application is May 1, 2026 (Friday).
The count of open positions for Senior Store Officer Grade 2 is 1, Assistant Keeper is 2 and Livestock officer is 8.
UPSC Vacancy 2026-Age Limit
The maximum age limit for submitting an application for the position of Assistant Keeper is 30 years while the maximum age limit is 35 years for the positions of Senior Store Officer Grade-2 and Livestock Officer.
Age relaxation is available for members of the reserved categories. For instance, SC and ST candidates would receive a relaxation of 5 years while OBC candidates would receive an age relaxation of 3 years.

Educational Qualifications
The Assistant Keeper Position is for the unreserved category, and candidates with disabilities (PwBD) can also apply. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Anthropology and a Diploma in Museology from a recognized institution with at least 1 year of experience in the preservation and maintenance of specimens in a museum.
A total of 7 positions for Senior Store Officer Grade-II will be recruited at DRDO Headquarters, New Delhi. These include 5 General, 1 OBC and 1 SC category positions, with one reserved for candidates with disabilities (blindness/low vision).
Candidates should have a Master’s degree in related subjects such as Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Business Studies, or Public Administration. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree in a related subject along with a Diploma in Material Management or Logistics is acceptable.
Recruitment will be held for 8 Livestock Officer Positions in the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, with 4 EWS, 1 OBC, 2 SC and 1 ST category reservations. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, along with registration with the Indian or State Veterinary Council. Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience in livestock development, animal health or related fields.
