Israel USA Iran War: United States Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has remarked that Indians had been exceptionally good actors, following the directions of the Donald Trump administration as and when told. Bessent remarked that the United States asked India to stop buying Russian crude oil and then obliged. The US Treasury Secretary also stated that Trump has now issued an order “allowing” India to temporarily buy crude oil from Russia for 30 days without any sanction.
Bessent stated that India has been an essential partner of USA and the Trump administration is hopeful that India would swiftly ramp up US oil purchases. Bessent went on to add that the stop-gap initiative would help in alleviating pressure that has been faced by global economies by Iran attempted to take global energy sources as a hostage.

Israel USA Iran War: Conflicting Statement By Energy Secretary
In contrast, United States Energy Secretary Chris Wright commented that the United States “requested” India to buy Russian oil so that oil prices could be reduced. Wright commented that USA reached out to its “friends in India” so they purchase stored crude oil from Russia. The US Energy Secretary also added that the measure would help pull oil into the refineries of India to release pressure on other global refineries.
Wright added that Indian refiners could help the world refine the Russian crude oil and move the finished stocks into the global markets at a swift pace. He added that this would be beneficial to make sure that a free flow supply of oil is maintained globally to ease pressure amid the ongoing Middle East crisis.
Russia Stands With India
