Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has tested positive for COVID-19. He informed about the same on Wednesday (April 14) on his official Twitter handle. He is already in self-isolation since Tuesday after coming in contact with covid positive officials.

The CM in another tweet said that all the guidelines are being followed in the state, while asking everyone who has been in contact with him to get tested.

Earlier, about a dozen employees from Yogi Adityanath's cabinet had turned out to be coronavirus positive, after which the Uttar Pradesh (UP) CM decided to quarantine himself.

The chief minister received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on April 5 at Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital in Lucknow and appealed to all eligible people to get vaccinated.

Earlier today, former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav also took to Twitter to share that he has tested positive for coronavirus. The Samajwadi Party leader had recently visited Hardiwar.

Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded its highest-ever single-day spike of 18,021 COVID-19 cases along with 85 deaths.
