International Yoga Day 2023: All recognised madrassas in the state, both those with financial support and those without, have been urged by the Uttar Pradesh Madrassa Education Board to observe Yoga Day on June 21. In a letter dated June 17 and sent to every district minority welfare officer in the state, Madrasa Education Board Registrar Jagmohan Singh requested that they take initiative to help all recognised aided and non-aided madrassas celebrate Yoga Day on June 21, Wednesday. All recognised madrassas, according to Madrassa Board Chairman Iftikhar Ahmad Javed, have finished their preparations for Yoga Day. Additionally, he has urged individual madrassa owners to observe Yoga Day.
900 Institutions Join the Celebration
The 900 madrassas in the state of Uttar Pradesh will host a yoga programme on Yoga Day, which the Uttar Pradesh BJP Minority Morcha is also actively planning. In honour of International Yoga Day, the state's 900 madrassas will now have a yoga exercise plan, according to Kunwar Basit Ali, president of the state's BJP Minority Morcha. There are currently 16,531 madrassas in the state, of which 558 get government funds. All basic and upper primary schools in the state were told last week to reopen on June 21 for a day during the summer break so that the pupils could partake in yoga activities. On this day, in addition to yoga instruction, several educational competitions for kids will be held, and prizes will also be given to the top three finishers in each competition, according to a government announcement from last Thursday. Additionally, the decree stipulated that "it is mandatory to comply with the instructions issued by the Director of Education (Basic) regarding Yoga Day."

Uttar Pradesh Schools Gear Up for Yoga Day with Mandatory Yoga Programmes
All basic and upper primary schools are required to take part in yoga programmes, following the guidelines. According to the direction, pranayama, asanas, and breathing exercises should be introduced to all administrators, teachers, and pupils of all primary and upper elementary schools in all districts on June 20. The school's headmaster will serve as a nodal person to ensure that the events are successfully planned. On June 21, breathing exercises, suryanamaskar, and pranayama will be taught to all primary and upper primary school principals, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and students. After that, school-aged children will be organised for yoga exercises such asanas, pranayama, and meditation.
