Uttarakhand News: As heavy rains continue to lash the city of Uttarakhand, a heavy vehicle and a bridge washed away in the Pithoragarh district breaking the connection of Om Parwat kalapani with Gunji. As the water increases due to heavy rains in the drain, the road from Gujin towards Kalapani has been completely destroyed. The army had informed about the sudden rise of water in the Kalapani Post but by then more rains have created havoc.

More Army officers called in for help

The local area Sarpanch said that there’s been a lot of problem in the traffic https://www.dnpindia.in/states/uttarakhand-news-red-alert-issued-as-nainital-almora-highway-is-closed-for-traffic/267042/and movement of vehicles in the city due to the heavy downpour. The local people of the village are helping the army in cleaning out the water from the roads, so that the traffic can run smoothly and people can travel safely to their destinations. More Army officers have pitched in to clear the routes in the affected areas.

SDRF Teams on stand by for any emergency situation

There has been constant heavy rainfall in the area for the past nine days which has resulted in the increase in the water levels and all the State Disaster Response Force Teams have been asked to be on alert in case of any emergency situation.
