Veteran Journalist Vinod Dua dies at 67

Journalist Vinod Dua, formerly associated with propaganda website The Wire, passed away today. He was 67. His daughter Mallika Dua informed the same on Instagram.

“Our Irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away”, she said in an Instagram story. She further informed that the cremation will take place tomorrow at the Lodhi crematorium at 12 noon.

Mr Dua is survived by two daughters, the comic-actor Mallika Dua and Bakul Dua, a clinical psychologist.

Dua had been hospitalised with COVID-19 earlier this year and spent several days under intensive care at the time. His daughter, actor and comedian Mallika Dua, who was issuing updates on his condition after he was admitted to hospital last week with post-COVID-19 complications, noted that he was “beyond critical”.

The 67-year-old journalist was a pioneer in broadcast Hindi journalism with stints in Doordarshan and NDTV. In June, he had lost his wife, radiologist Padmavati ‘Chinna’ Dua, to coronavirus.
