Weather Update: Over many south Indian states, a spell of heavy rains is predicted to start on Saturday. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Southeast Peninsular India is predicted to get the first rains of the Northeast Monsoon around October 29.

Notably, Tamil Nadu was predicted to experience the Northeast monsoon on October 20. However, a cyclonic storm that had developed in the Bay of Bengal caused a delay. Twenty districts in the state, including Perambalur, Tiruchirapalli, Nagapattinam, and Tiruvarur, are predicted to see heavy rains.

Due to these projections, a yellow watch has been issued for each of the predicted periods for all of the southern states, urging residents to "remain updated" on the bad weather.

Delhi

The nights in the national capital region have started to become more cold-ish while there is significant warmth in the day. As per the latest weather update, the NCR will remain partially cloudy at a few places while the sky is likely to remain clear by and large.

Mumbai

The city and its suburbs will remain dry for a few days, however, the sky is predicted to be smoky for today. There are no rains predicted for today, though.

What lies for other states?

Over southern Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, isolated showers and thunderstorms have been predicted. In Northern India, as well as Central, Western, Eastern, and Southern India, the quality of the air is likely to be quite bad.
