Weather Update: The IMD predicts that on January 27, there will be severe cold wave conditions in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi. However, a number of locations will still experience cold wave conditions on January 27. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that Narnaul (Haryana), Ayanagar (Delhi), and Kanpur (East Uttar Pradesh) all had minimum temperatures of three degrees Celsius. The IMD has issued a warning, saying that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are forecast over the plains of northwest India during the next three days, but that things will improve after that.

IMD forecasts that dense to very dense fog is very likely over most of Uttar Pradesh; in isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, northwest Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland; and at some places over Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh and Bihar. Tripura, Mizoram, and Manipur. There is a good chance of cold to extremely cold weather throughout much of Uttar Pradesh, as well as in certain areas of West Rajasthan, Bihar, and isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and East Rajasthan. There is a high probability of isolated pockets of cold wave conditions in West Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand. There is a high probability of localised pockets of frost throughout Uttarakhand. Over Comorin, squally weather with wind speeds of 40–45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph is highly probable.
