Weather Update: It is anticipated that the northwest of India will continue to experience a chilly wave till January 18. Several areas of northwest and central India are predicted to have a minimum temperature drop of about two degrees Celsius till January 17, after which there will be a gradual rise of three to five degrees Celsius from January 18 to 20.

While Chandigarh and Delhi, as well as other areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana, are forecast to experience cold wave to severe cold wave conditions through January 17, with isolated pockets on January 18, cold wave conditions are also predicted for those areas. Through January 17, significant fog is anticipated in a few isolated locations across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, north Rajasthan, and north Uttar Pradesh.

Delhi

The national capital region will be remarkably cold as the chilly temperatures are predicted to continue their havoc. Today, the weather is expected to be foggy with sun shining out only during afternoon. The maximum temperature, for today, will be 16 degrees and minimum will be 4 degrees.

Mumbai

IMD has predicted that the city and its suburbs will have the hazy effect today with partial cloudy-ness all over the city. The temperature will be lower than few previous days. For today, the maximum will be 26 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 18 degrees.

Chennai

Today will likely see some cloud cover in Chennai, coupled with higher humidity, according to IMD. However, the city won't get any rain for a long. The maximum and minimum temperatures for today are expected to be 28 and 21, respectively.

Kolkata

Today in Kolkata, it will be a bright day. For several days after today, the city's weather is predicted to follow a similar pattern. The forecast for today's maximum and minimum temperatures is for 28 and 17, respectively.

City-wise Weather Update

While the lowest temperatures in West Rajasthan and Gujarat start to climb on January 18, the remaining areas of North West India will start to witness an increase in temperature on January 19. The temperature increase is a result of the new Western Disturbance, which will start to impact the Western Himalayas on January 19.
