Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will likely be dense to very dense fog in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and in isolated pockets of West Rajasthan. Additionally, there may be dense fog in some areas of Bihar, as well as in isolated pockets of Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya,Mizoram & Tripura. In certain areas of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, there are probably going to be cold day to extremely cold day conditions. In isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, and Rajasthan, cold wave conditions are most likely to occur. This change in weather is leading visibility problems in highways, Airways and railways. It is increasing the traffic in their pathways.

In isolated areas over coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Lakshadweep, there is a very good chance of heavy rainfall. There is a high probability of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (between 30 and 40 kmph) over Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep. There is also a high probability of isolated lightning strikes over north Madhya Pradesh, coastal Karnataka, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Fishermen are advised not to venture into the Southeast and adjacent East Central Arabian Sea, as well as the Lakshadweep area, due to the likelihood of squally weather with wind speeds of 40–45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph.
