Weather Update: The cold wave and chilly day conditions that have seized the northern and northwestern parts of India are expected to pass within the next 36 hours, according to a prediction issued on Sunday by the Indian Metrological Department (IMD). According to the meteorological service, this will occur as a result of an impending western disturbance that will disrupt the weather on January 10 in the states of Punjab and Haryana as well as the western Himalayas.

According to the meteorological department, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh were under a red alert for intense fog. Additionally, Rajasthan and Bihar have been given an orange alert for intense fog.

Delhi

The national capital recorded the temperature of less than two degrees at several locations yesterday. Today also the weather is predicted to be on the similar trends with dense fog. For today, the maximum temperature will be 17 degrees while the minimum temperature is likely to be 5 degrees.

Mumbai

IMD predicts Mumbai to remain sunny throughout the day and some hazy effect will be present though. The sky is predicted to be clear and remain similar for several upcoming days. The maximum temperature, for today, will be 31 degrees and minimum will be 20 degrees.

Chennai

Continuing its pleasant run, Chennai will be having a peaceful and calm weather for today. The sky will be clear and there are no chances of rain affecting the city in upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 28 degrees and minimum will be 23 degrees.

Kolkata

Kolkata is predicted to continue its run of staying on lower end of temperatures. Though, overall, the coldwave won't affect the natives much since the day is predicted to be sunny. For today, the maximum temperature will be 26 degrees and minimum will be 14 degrees.

According to the meteorological department, northwest Indian states would have a minimum temperature increase of 2-4°C. According to the IMD, the cold wave conditions in the states of Telangana, Jharkhand, West Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Bihar would abate from January 9.
