Weather Update: Some locations are expected to get heavy to very heavy rainfall, and coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam are likely to have isolated instances of extremely heavy rainfall. Exceptionally heavy rainfall at a few locations in Yanam, Andhra Pradesh's north coast, and the nearby south coast. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall, maybe over Telangana in select instances, In isolated locations, heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is probably over South coastal Odisha. Significant rainfall in certain areas of Rayalaseema, Puducherry, and northwestern Tamil Nadu.

Cyclone alert in these areas

While Cyclone Michaung brews over the Bay of Bengal, authorities in Andhra Pradesh's NTR district, Pondicherry, Karaikal, and Yanam have closed schools for two days, from Monday, December 4 to Tuesday, December 5. In light of the approaching storm, the Tamil Nadu government requested that private businesses and offices advise their workforce to work from home or to only staff vital positions as necessary.

There is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (between 30 and 40 km/h) across Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Mahe. There may also be isolated thunderstorms with lightning over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.
