The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for dense fog and smog in northern states.
Weather Update December 14 2025: Delhi NCR
The Delhi NCR region is likely to experience milder-than-expected temperatures. In early morning, dense fog and smog are highly likely.
Uttarakhand & Hilly Areas
Light rainfall or snowfall is expected in isolated places over Western Himalayan Region Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit Baltistan-Muzaffarabad. The states of Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttarakhand are likely to receive cold-chilling snowfall and plunging minimum temperatures.
Northeastern States
Dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail during early morning hours in isolated pockets of Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
Southern India
Cold wave conditions are very likely at isolated places over interior Karnataka and Telangana.
Other States
No significant change in the level of minimum temperature is very likely over Gujarat region. A gradual rise in minimum temperature is likely by 2-3 degree Celsius over Maharashtra and Central India. Cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty winds are very likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
