Weather Update: The IMD has predicted that northwest India and the surrounding areas of the central region will see more hot days. In the meantime, a yellow alert has been issued by the Meterological department for many southern regions owing to severe rainfall. The weather dept has predicted that Mizoram, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura would likely experience significant rainfall. While heatwaves swelter northern and northwest India, hurricane Remal’s remnants sent massive amounts of rainstorms reeling through the northeastern regions. For the next 48 hours, Chennai’s sky is predicted by the Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) to be partly cloudy. It is expected that the minimum temperature will be in the range of 30-31°C, and the maximum temperature will be approximately 41°C.

IMD forecasts that there will likely be significant to extremely heavy rainfall in some areas across West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya. However, there is a possibility of significant rainfall in isolated areas in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura. The Extreme Heat Wave Conditions is expected in regions of Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha, as well as in few parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Rajasthan. The same heat wave conditions is likely to persist in parts of Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Uttar Pradesh.
