Weather update: Light to moderate rainfall will continue to thrash parts of the northwest including Delhi-NCR, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The rainy weather is expected to continue until June 1 which will be followed by a heatwave across several regions including Bihar and West Bengal. 

“Light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning & occasional gutsy winds/squall (40-50 gusting to 60 kph) very likely over Northwest India till 01st June and reduce thereafter,” the weather forecasting agency said. 

IMD also said that rainfall in India will be ‘below normal’ in the month of June. Many states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Odisha will witness above-normal temperatures in June, ANI said in a report. 

Delhi Weather update

Delhi is expected to have light to moderate rainfall today. The temperature is expected to rise thereafter. The maximum temperature in the national capital will be recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will remain as low as 23 degrees Celsius.

Mumbai weather update

Mumbai will have a sunny day today. However, the temperature is not expected to rise above 34 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the city will be recorded at 29 degrees Celsius.

Kolkata weather update

Kolkata will have a cloudy but warm day. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 39 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.

Chennai weather update

Occasional showers and gusty winds are expected to bring relief to the city. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be witnessed by the city at 36 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.
