Weather Update: The wind is rapidly lowering the temperature in the northern states right now. People everywhere are feeling shivers due to a chilly weather pattern. As winter progresses, temperatures below zero have been recorded in several northern locations. There is a good chance of isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, as well as isolated areas of heavy rainfall over Kerala and Mahe. Very likely, there will be isolated pockets of dense fog over Punjab and Haryana. Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty wind (30–40 kmph), and isolated locations over Kerala and Mahe are probably possible. There may also be isolated lightning strikes over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Lakshadweep.

It is very likely that there will be light to moderate rainfall in certain areas over Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe on December 18, and 19. It is most likely over Lakshadweep on December 16–19 and in numerous locations throughout Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe on December 16–17. Heavy rain is expected to fall in isolated areas over Kerala on December 16 and 17, and over south Tamil Nadu from December 16 to 19. December 16, 17 and 17, 2023, are also very likely to see isolated, extremely heavy rainfall over south Tamil Nadu, and December 17, 2023, over south Kerala. There is a high probability of isolated downpours or snowfall over Himachal Pradesh on December 16 and over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on December 16 and 17. Over the next five days, there won't be any noteworthy weather over the remaining portions of the nation.
