Weather Update: The weather is getting worse in some places as winter approaches the middle. Many flights and trains have been cancelled due to the dense fog in many areas, including our capital city of Delhi. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to persist over the plains of Northwest India for the next three days before decreasing. Over the last few days, cold wave conditions have prevailed over north India and the plains of northwest India.

IMD predicts dense to very dense fog very likely in many parts over Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh; in isolated pockets over Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand: Dense fog in isolated pockets over Rajasthan, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura. Severe cold day conditions are expected in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, as well as in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Severe cold wave conditions are very likely in some areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, as well as cold wave conditions in isolated pockets of West Uttar Pradesh, north Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, and Jharkhand. Ground frost is possible in isolated pockets across Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
