Weather Update: There is a good chance of isolated areas of heavy rainfall over Lakshadweep and south Tamil Nadu. Lightning and strong winds (up to 30–40 kmph) during a thunderstorm are probably isolated over Lakshadweep. Most of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and certain regions of northwest Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, north Chhattisgarh, north Jharkhand, and west Bihar will see minimum temperatures between 5 and 10°C. In some isolated areas of Punjab, dense to extremely dense fog is expected. Over the next five days, patches of dense to extremely dense fog are probably going to occur over Punjab. Dense fog in isolated pockets is probably going to occur over Haryana over the next five days and over Assam & Meghalaya in the early hours of December 19–21, 2023.

On December 19, there is a high probability of light to moderate rainfall in many locations over south Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe. On December 18 and 19, there is a significant decrease in rainfall in most places over Lakshadweep. There is a good chance that isolated, extremely heavy rainfall will persist over southern Tamil Nadu today, December 19, 2023, and on December 20, 2023. On December 18 and 19, 2023, there is a very good chance of isolated, extremely heavy rainfall over south Kerala and Lakshadweep, respectively. Over the next five days, there won't be any noteworthy weather over the remaining portions of the nation.
