Weather Update: From Heatwave Alert in 5 States to Cyclone Mocha's Intense Change - Know full forecast here

Weather Update: For today, certain areas in India are expected to face high temperatures, while Cyclone Mocha intensifies into a powerful cyclonic storm, leading to enhanced rainfall in northeastern states. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow heatwave warning for several Indian states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar, West Bengal, and Maharashtra. This marks the second occurrence of a heatwave in multiple states this season.

During the upcoming three-day period, the majority of the country, excluding East India, is anticipated to witness a rise in maximum temperatures by approximately 3 to 5°C. Cyclone Mocha is expected to reach its peak intensity on the evening of May 13. On May 14, 2023, around noon, it is likely to make landfall along the southeastern coast of Bangladesh and the northern coast of Myanmar, between Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukpyu (Myanmar), not far from Sittwe (Myanmar).

Delhi

Today, the weather forecast for the national capital indicates clear skies and abundant sunshine, with temperatures expected to rise even further. This trend of sunny and hot weather is expected to persist in the coming days as well. The maximum temperature for today is projected to reach 42 degrees, while the minimum temperature will be around 27 degrees.

Mumbai

The day will commence with partly cloudy skies, but it will gradually make a transition into a sunny and clear weather pattern that will persist throughout the day. The humidity level is expected to remain at 85%. The maximum temperature will reach 34 degrees, while the minimum temperature will be around 28 degrees.

Chennai

Throughout the day, Chennai is forecasted to have partially cloudy skies with no significant changes expected in the region. The maximum temperature for today is projected to reach 40 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature will be around 30 degrees Celsius. Moreover, the humidity level is anticipated to remain at 57%.

Kolkata
