Weather update: As per the latest update by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), partly cloudy skies with very light rainfall and thunderstorms are expected at isolated places in New Delhi and its adjoining areas. Besides Delhi, the northeastern states are also likely to witness heavy rainfall for the next five days. The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall over Assam and Meghalaya from Thursday to May 22. In Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh light to moderate rainfall is expected till May 22.
The IMD further said that dust-raising winds are likely to occur over isolated places in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Meanwhile, heat wave conditions are predicted in parts of Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Delhi weather update
Delhi is expected to have light to moderate rainfall today. Along with this, the national capital could also witness cloudy skies with strong winds. The maximum weather in the capital city will shoot up to 39 degrees Celsius, while the minimum can be recorded at as low as 27 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai weather update
After a cloudy Thursday, Mumbai will have a sunny day today. The maximum temperature can go up to 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum has been recorded at 28 degrees Celsius.
As per the Indian Meteorological Department, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Chennai and its suburbs are likely to be recorded at around 40 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Kolkata weather update
Kolkata is predicted to have a cloudy day today. The maximum temperature will be 36 degrees and the minimum will be 29 degrees.
