Weather Update: A yellow alert has been issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for eight regions in Maharashtra, namely Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon, Nashik, and Beed, due to the heatwave. Over Odisha and West Bengal, IMD has issued a severe heatwave warning. The meteorological office reported thunderstorms and likely to have cloudy conditions over Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. There is also signs of rain movement. The temperature in Delhi reached 39.4 degrees on Friday, the hottest of the summer so far in the city, according to IMD data. Strong surface winds and a partially cloudy sky are forecasted for Saturday by the weather office.

According to IMD, there will likely be isolated areas of rainfall or snowfall in Arunachal Pradesh, as well as isolated areas of Assam. There is a high probability of hot aweather in certain areas of West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Heat waves are likely to have over Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar. In isolated pockets across several regions of Uttar Pradesh, warm nighttime conditions are probably going to persist.
