Weather Update: India experienced relief from the scorching heatwave as rainfall spread across the country. The pleasant weather is expected to persist for the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). On Friday, the IMD forecasted that there would be no heatwave conditions and no significant fluctuations in maximum temperatures for the upcoming five-day period.

In its daily weather bulletin, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted heavy rainfall at specific locations in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and South interior Karnataka till May 7. The IMD further stated that there will be no significant changes in maximum temperatures across most parts of India, ensuring the absence of heatwave conditions for the next five days. On May 7, the IMD predicts heavy to very heavy rainfalls over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as well as in South interior Karnataka.

Hailstorms, accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, are expected in Haryana and Punjab on May 6, according to the Met Department. Additionally, the IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall, along with lightning and gusty winds, at isolated locations in North East India over the next two days.

Delhi

After a long week of rain and pleasant weather, the trends have finally changed. Today will remain sunny & bright today. Morning could begin partly overcast, however, it will turn clear from then. Humidity will remain at 49% while the temperature will vary between 36 - 24 degree celsius.

Mumbai

IMD has forecast Mumbai & its suburbs to remain hazy throughout the day. No change in weather trend is likely in the upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and the minimum will be 28 degrees while the humidity will remain at 64%.

Chennai

As per the latest weather update, Chennai is predicted to be lashed by scattered thunderstorms along with rainfall. However, morning & evening are forecast to remain mostly cloudy and expect pleasant weather. With humidity at 86%, the temperatures will remain between 32 - 27 degrees.

Kolkata

Kolkata is forecast to remain sunny today. However, some patches of clouds are likely during the day. The temperature will vary between 36 - 28 degrees and humidity will remain 50%.
