Weather Update: Many areas in the nation are expected to experience severe rainfall and cyclonic storms, according to a warning from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). The Meteorological Department said that a cyclonic storm from the Bay of Bengal pressure area could form today. In the majority of South India, rain is predicted, while Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu has received a rain alert for today. Kolkata is also to receive rainfall today. According to officials, six more deaths from suspected heat stroke were reported in Rajasthan on Friday, when the temperature reached 49 degrees Celsius. There is a Red alert for heatwave in Delhi today.

IMD forecasts extremely heavy rainfall over West Bengal, with particularly severe precipitation expected in isolated areas. There has been isolated rainfall in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. There has also been isolated heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. The same is predicted for Odisha and Kerala. The majority of portions of Rajasthan,Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Gujarat state are expected to experience heat wave conditions. The weather forecast for Ranchi by IMD states that there would be mainly clear sky in the city. However it may change and turn into partial cloudy sky in the late afternoon or evening. The same is predicted for Patna.
