Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department reports that there have been persistent downpours in a number of areas of the nation due to heavy rains. IMD predicts widespread light to moderate rain, along with thunderstorms and lightning, over the western and central regions of India. The monsoon trough that passed over Dehradun, Lucknow, Gwalior, Ranchi, and Digha is said to be the cause of the resurgence of the monsoon activity, which resulted in significant rainfall throughout Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The IMD predicts that isolated areas throughout Mumbai and its suburbs may see heavy to extremely severe rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts more moderate to heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR today.

According to IMD, Goa, Maharashtra, are expected to see isolated areas of heavy to very heavy rainfall, with heavy precipitation. However heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is predicted in isolated areas across Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Gujarat, and Karnataka, according to the India Meteorological Department predictions. Moreover, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Meghalaya, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala are among the states where IMD predicts significant rainfall in certain areas.
