Weather update: Delhi and its adjoining areas have seen a respite from the scorching sun after light to moderate rainfall hit the national capital. Due to a western disturbance active, IMD has expected rain showers over northwest India.
IMD has also predicted respite from heatwave until 30 May.
“Heatwave has ended in entire India today. For today temperature will decrease and it will be cloudy. We have issued an orange alert for hailstorms, storms and rain in Rajasthan, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh. There is a possible fo rain in the hilly areas for the next 2-23 days. There are chances of storms in East India as well,” IMD scientist RK Jenamani was quoted as saying by IMD.
Delhi weather update
Partially cloudy skies, very light rain, and isolated thunderstorms will be hovering in Delhi. The regional meteorological department predicts that the high and low temperatures will range between 36 and 21 degrees Celsius in the national capital and its adjoining areas.
Mumbai weather update
Mumbai will have a sunny day today with the humidity level of 69 percent. The minimum temperature in the city is expected to be 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is predicted 29 degrees Celsius.
Chennai weather update
Chennai is expected to remain hot for the next few days including today with the maximum temperature going as high as 40 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in the city is predicted to be at 29 degrees Celsius.
Kolkata weather update
The maximum and minimum temperatures on Friday are likely to be around 34 degrees Celius and 23 degrees Celsius, respectively. The city is expected to have sunny days ahead with maximum temperature soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in the next few days.
