Early on Sunday morning, a fresh spell of rain lashed Delhi and its adjoining areas, bringing relief from rising temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted thunderstorms with light to moderate-intensity rain with gusty winds today (June 4).
Rain lashes Delhi
“Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds with speed of 30-50 Km/h would occur over and adjoining areas of most places of Delhi ( Safdarjung, Lodi Road, IGI Airport, Ayanagar), NCR ( Loni Dehat, Bahadurgarh, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida,” IMD said in a tweet.
UP, Rajasthan also receive fresh showers
Debai, Gabhana, Jattari, Atrauli, Khair, Aligarh (U.P.) Bhiwari, Tizara (Rajasthan) also received fresh rainfall in the early hours of Sunday.
On Monday, more rain can hit parts of the country including Delhi, UP and Rajasthan, but according to officials, the temperature may soar up to 40 degrees Celsius. The maximum will once again reach 40°C by the following week.
